Why did you start with the company?

I started with Kirkwood Chicago because I saw an entrepreneurial opportunity dependent on my work ethic and willingness to learn from others. I also love the importance of our campaign to increase renewable energy’s footprint.

What is your favorite part about working with the company?

My favorite part about working for Kirkwood is the investment the company makes in its people. The management training program covers every aspect of running a business and highlights the fact that a business can only be as successful as the people who make it up.

If you can travel anywhere in the world where would you go?

The Large Hadron Collider in Geneva, Switzerland.

Who is one of your role models?

Elon Musk is one of my role models because he makes people rethink the boundaries of possibility.

What are some of your favorite hobbies? How did you get into those hobbies?

I love being outside in nature. Hiking mountains and walking through the woods is incredibly peaceful. Colgate’s campus was the perfect place for me to discover this new hobby.

Do you play any sports?

I played quarterback at Colgate University.

How do you relax after a stressful work week?

I like to read philosophy papers and watch science documentaries on YouTube to help me relax after a stressful work week.

What is your advice for new leaders on the team?

My advice for new leaders is to trust the training program and follow the system. Add in a lot of hard work and you will see results.

What is your favorite book and why?

How We Got to Now: Six Innovations That Made The Modern World by Steven Johnson. I like it because it shows how the most important breakthroughs in history came from consistent improvement over an extended period of time.

The Cubs are my favorite sports team because of their history and Wrigleyville’s atmosphere.

My secret talent is perfecting the worm.

Green because it makes me happy.
